You could vote for me, Jack.

Forcing a runoff in this one would only cost the taxpayers another several hundred thousand that we can't afford. No thanks.

Jack
I appreciate many of the blogs you've posted recently about the Mayoral election.
It disappoints me that you've judged so quickly that this Mayoral race isn't worthwhile, simply because of the polls. I agree the info about the polls is nauseating, but I disagree with your overall sentiment here, and also disagree that Dozono is part of the former Goldschmidt network, and Homer Williams is not on Adams side
I hope you will keep encouraging Portlanders to be involved in this election, and to vote in May.
Someone who respects your blog, and your civic involvement

Man, I am sure glad I moved from Portland and Multnomah County two years ago. I am not forced to participate in these dreary elections and the dreary fiscal mismanagement by the entire Portland/Multnomah County team. Between the Multco Commission, the Portland City Council, and Metro, I could have gone broke if I had stayed there any longer.
I live in LO now, which isn't without its problems. But they are small potatoes compared with the sh*tstorm of problems in Portland.
I'm voting for Judie Hammerstad

You're not free of Metro. And wait 'til the new regional transportation authority takes over. You'll have to move to Albany to get away. Even McMinnville's about to get sucked in.

Jack,
Calling up a few voters and asking if they know that Sam or Sho is a crook is not negative campaigning nor is it a push poll. If the polling sample is small and it's done for the purpose of figuring out what the public knows and doesn't know about your opponent it's just research. Even the Trib points that out in their article. Now I am not voting for either side since I live in Vancouver but this sounds like much ado about nothing to me.
Slow news day IMHO. Besides it's way to early for either side to go negative. You wait until it's closer to the election date to do that. :-)

It is about nothing. Neither candidate is worth the attention. Portland is headed back to the Vera Years -- probably, worse.

Thank goodness it will be over in three months.
It's going to be a lot longer than that. Sure, the election will be over, but then we have to face years of whoever "wins".
Yippee!!

Gee...I remember when Len had more hair and was fresh from NYC 30+ years ago.
It's time to move away again. I've lived here too long.

Yep. I'm waiting for the LO train to become another part of the Tri-Met empire. That train moves more slowly than walkers. But the Briarwood/Dunthorpe crowd is certainly working hard to prevent more frequent trips through their backyard. Ironically, most of these people are part of the Goldschmidt empire that brought us this mess in the first place. What goes around, comes around.

Thank heaven I'm retiring in two years and will be gone before the residents and businesses of Portland are even more screwed than they are now.
